SMECLE Integrates All Learning Styles

Taking early learning to new levels of Visual, Aural and Kinaesthetic engagement!

The SMECLE Program has been designed to help activate and connect the left and right hemispheres of the brain and neural pathways for higher-order thinking and learning.

Our play based activities have been assessed, revised and finely tuned by expert Early Learning and Creative Arts teachers and Professors. Here is a breakdown of how we cater to all learning styles.

Visual: Focus text is manipulated using Sound and Movement by Educators in each activity. SMECLE experiences bring meaning and engagement to texts and encourages extended exploration.

Aural:Auditory processing skills develop active listening, responding and rhythm and pattern awareness. Activities include simple instructions for teachers and Children  to follow with musical accompaniment, ranging from bright and lively to peaceful and reflective.

KinaestheticMovements develop spinal mobility, coordination, dexterity, core strength and bilateral integration. Fingers, hands and forearms are regularly exercised to strengthen muscles and movements to support hand-writing.

Tony Buzar, a leading expert on the brain, learning and the inventor of the mind mapping technique states that

“It has been thought that creativity was right-brained because we have mis-analysed that, creativity has therefore been majorly damaged…it needs both sides … all working together – that is creativity.”

Buzar believes that everyone is creative – as we all have millions of brain cells, but just have to learn how to use them. This is done through the below principles that are inherent in the SMECLE program:

  • Fluency of thoughts – Practice, practice, practice
  • Originality of thoughts – Think out of the box
  • Flexibility of thoughts – how many ways can I see this from?
  • Imagination – association and connection on thoughts or ideas
